School/Youth Group Workshops
The FIG Tree provides educational outreach and learning facilities for all ages that not only meets Government curriculum requirements of international development awareness, but also on the concepts of global citizenship, business and trading, geography and social and political history.


The chocolate making events full day programme runs by arrangement only (see below).

Events will be tailored to your requirements based around our unique chocolate making workshop and to include any or all of the following themes;

-Chocolate making and the history of chocolate
-Fair Trade and Fair Trade Towns
-Ghanaian culture (including learning to play Oware, the world’s oldest board game
-Global citizenship
-The British Transatlantic slave trade and its abolition
-Quaker belief and convictions

We aim to deliver unique activities and experiences for students


Main activities can include: 

-Bean to bar chocolate making using cocoa from New Koforidua. – The children make chocolate using their own beans they have roasted and de-husked

-Interactive slave trade triangle activity

-An audience with the Chief, Nana Kwadwo Osafo 1st, Nkosohene of New Koforidua.
