Lancaster was one of the ten ‘Twinned Cities’ chosen to declare its Fairtrade Status on March 5th 2004 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the FAIRTRADE Mark. Lancaster paired with York to celebrate this historic occasion and together with Morecambe and surrounding areas is the only Fairtrade District in the UK.
